A morning shot in the green balcony...!

I love collected succulents, cacti and small miniature plants- orchids, ferns, bonsais. I guess I want to have every damn plant in my small balcony garden. Recently, I picked up one more cactus from my Gujarat trip, from roadside.  :)

Whorled~

The leaves of this bamboo (picked from Siliguri market) are initially rolled in a whorl and as they grow out (one by one), the give rise to spiral (criss-crossing leaf pattern) phyllotaxy..! 
Interesting is botany...Isn't it!!

The sleeping botanist in me loves collecting such unique plants. At times, I wish I was working for a botanical garden like Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew ...!

Monsoon Part 1

After a delay of  many weeks since Monsoon hit the West coast of India and Kerala, we see the blue sky changing its colour to greyish-black. Wind is breezy, cold and full of the happy feel of rain. The city seems to be joyful again. And as rain sets down on northern part of the city with heavy drops, I see guys, kids and even oldies enjoying their first drench in rain.

Rose & Love

The bond between rose and love is unique. Where there is love, rose blooms. Where love has to be expressed, rose is given. The flower of love...!
Recently one of my plant bloomed with these beauties. More buds are on queue to bloom in a week or so. The balcony is gonna be red for another few days making me feel happy and saner..!

Truly a flower that symbolizes love..!
The flower of love...! or rather the love of all flowers..!
And my love for rose is truly eternal..!

Adding Greenery to Terrace

Adding greenery to a small balcony or a terrace is so prominent in Bangalore. Lack of open space and time in a metro and its ever-changing cityscape has given this new form of gardening.

I have a craze for plants and gardens and terrace  (balcony) garden in particular. Show at 1. Shantinagar Studio gallery.  The buddha head, the tiki face, the old brass urli, the kalaonche and desert rose. Such a perfect afternoon it was. I had dropped by to the ongoing Aurovillean Pottery exhibition there.

The Miniature figurine of a Giant

Saturdays are weekly offs for me. OMG...! I feel so excited when its Friday morning, I wait for the night to come so that Saturday comes and wish that it never ends. I also wish that everyday should be a Saturday.
Saturdays are special to me.. Reasons..
Shopping, Lazying around, Watching TV and movies, some cooking, and of course gardening, tending the plants and standing in the balcony for hours..!

I love collecting knick-knacks for my small balcony garden.. And this small figurine of the giant was bought last year from a mela..! Made of teracotta, this giant guards my pot and also makes me feel :) . No doubt I am a pseudo-ecologist!

Tuesday Tea

T for Tea, T for Teusday, T for Terrace.. Waah what a combination..! :) :)

Yesterday it rained badly from afternoon till late night. Early morning everything was calm, misty and cold for sure.. No doubt the rain of last night drenched all. 

After the Rain...!  (I am thoughtful now....)
I am enjoying life to the fullest. Hopeful that I get the desired job soon (fingers-crossed)...Having the Tuesday Morning Tea with Sygonium plant is making me all :)  
As I always say, one should enjoy his/ her/ their morning tea ritually..!

Welcome Rain...

After a long awaiting, my pot of rain lilies are in full bloom. With the advent of monsoon, the pot looks colourful and heavy. These lilies flower during the onset of rain.
And my pot of rain-lilies made me wait for more than a year to see my glowing and smiling and blushing..
No doubt they are called as Rain Lilies..This one flowered today morning...!
I am sure,within no time, the pot will be blooming with loads of them... singing the song for rain..!
