The expedition of My Camera... From nature to abstracts.. The pictures that speak hundred words in the silence. They are the Talking Pictures..."A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells you the less you know." said Diane Arbus.I also believe so. This nature freaked girl grew up with the sole idea of coloring the nature in her canvas so many times... But painting them wasn't that easy either .. and so I decided to freeze them by my camera.

A ray of Hope...!!
Having a heart for making a difference means that something or someone made a difference in my heart first. We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our fellow men; and among those fibers, as sympathetic threads, our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects. This tree and its growing branches , spreading across the sky symbolize it.
And as I sit and think, I get reminded of Wordsworth saying~
"That best portion of a good man s life? His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love."

Diwali Wishes...!!
That's what I always wondered...
The celebration is at heights and the town is deep into crackers and in a way, adding poison to the mother earth. This year Diwali for me has got good news but i didn't celebrate it to a great pomp. I am not in for of pollution. Just lighted the diyas... no sweets either, office sucked me so much from inside, had no energy to bake any delicacy for puja... The "Akhanda" diya for Kali puja is still lighted up, yesterday it was flickering steadily for 6 hours or more... And I was happy. Got some awesome candles from Fabindia and two silver ear-rings for me and two Tees for Chai, one clearly messaging out SAVE TREES n OUR MOTHER.(though he didn't like it much)on Dhantrayodashi !!.....
That's my way of celebrating Diwali. :o)
Hope all of you have your style of diwali pomp and fun.
Slowly I have realized that one can't have a light without a dark to stick it in.
One liner that comes to my mind now is~
"There are two ways of spreading light; to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it. "
~Edith Wharton

Diya...........
A festival of lights, candles, diyas, glitters, and sweets and happiness, a victory over evil, Diwali is a festival, celebrated when SriRam arrived Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, conquering the kingdom of Lanka and getting Mata Sita back . Its an occasion celebrated for the victory of truth over lie, good over evil and light over darkness...!!

Happy Birthday Poppy...!!
And all of a sudden, these lines of Thomas Hood buzz my mind and i pen it down ...
"I remember, I remember
The roses, red and white,
The violets, and the lily-cups,
Those flowers made of light!
The lilacs, where the robin built,
And where my brother set
The laburmum on his birthday,-
The tree is living yet."
So true its said when it is read
And then when it is slowly fed into the brain...
"From our birthday, until we die,
Is but the winking of an eye."

"Jaya Jaya Hai Mahisasura Mardini"
Devi is the great goddess of the Hindus, the consort of Shiva and she is worshiped in various forms corresponding to her two aspects: benevolence and fierceness. She is Uma, "light"; Gauri, "yellow or brilliant"; Parvati, "the mountaineer"; and Jagatmata, "the-mother-of-the-world" in her milder guise. The terrible emanations are Durga "the inaccessible"; Kali, "the black"; Chandi, "the fierce"; and Bhairavi, "the terrible."
Durga, a beautiful warrior seated upon a tiger, was the first appearance of the great goddess. The circumstance of her miraculous arrival was the tyranny of the monster-demon Mahishasur, who through terrific austerities had acquired invincible strength. The gods were afraid of this water-buffalo bull because neither Vishnu nor Shiva could prevail against him. It seemed that the joint energy of Shakti was only capable of vanquishing Mahisha, and so it was the eighteen-armed Durga who went out to do battle. The nine different forms of Devi are worshiped over the nine days. These are the most popular forms under which she is worshiped:
Durga Shailputri (Daughter of Mountain)
Brahmacharini
Chandraghanta
Kushmanda
Skanda Mata
Katyayani
Kalratri
Maha Gauri
Siddhidatri

Dedicated for safe, pollution free, eco-friendly,green environment on the occassion of World Environment Day.
Being a student of ecology and environmental sciences from one of the prestigious universities of the country, I wonder why can't all days be celebrated as June 5th. A step , if taken by me, another step by you and other step by someone else will make a slight difference for sure and summation of all these delta differences when counted with make a big difference like a tiny cloud makes a huge heavy cloud, drop by drop rains make that big ocean...!!
So, lets take a step ahead to make our environment clean, safe and more green, moreover pollution -free and eco-friendly so that we and our "co-creatures dwell happily for ever like a fairy tale story ending.

Its been too hot this time in Bangalore, summer has been quite torturing here and all over the country. Everyone awaiting desperately for the monsoon to reach main land and make the earth cooler, more rich, greener, and more thick with life.
In all the midst, I dedicate this Rain tree flower to the black clouds that stopped by on my city (Bangalore) and poured down heavily... Aah what a mystical feel seeing the clouds turning grey to black and then all in a sudden, with a spur of time, changing to big and fat drops and may the dry earth all wet, watery and cool.
I guess i am gonna love this rare moment of my life till death.

This shot was taken in Kokkare Bellur, Karnataka, India.
I waited a lot to catch the storks busy in the act of love-making, which was of small fraction time... Attempting for some 15 times, i guess I caught the best.. I would love to thank my dear husband for helping me in taking the shot as he was a keen observer to catch the raw eye candid shot and myself chasing him with my camera to catch these storks into the ACT.
