Mr. Bob as Pet ?!?!

The Hoot Hoot... Mr. Bob, The Barn Owl... Mr. Wiseman..Mr. Nightman... The Hooter..!

Of  all names, my most favorite is Mr. Bob..!
I love owls especially spotted owlets so much that I keep dreaming of have an owl as pet. Well pet and an owl..! I am, sort of crazy.. That's what Mr. Hegde thinks.

Spotted owlets are nocturnal birds and I hear them everyday with typical owl calls that's harsh and loud,  churring and chuckling chirurr-chirurr-chirurr ending with a chirwak-chirwak, after dusk (post-sunset) from my office roof , in my office terrace. At times, I wonder, if some witches are plotting on the ATREE's terrace after evening sets in.This fellow stays in one of the beams of the terrace roof. I must say, he loves to pose in front of humans though his wife is too shy to face us.

Owls, in spite of the blind belief as symbol of bad omens are one of the social birds, closely residing next to human beings and more of so, harmless and big-time pest controllers (esp rodents). In Hindu mythology, the owl is the vahan (mode of transport) of Lakshmi, goddess of wealth.

I wonder if this may be one of the many reasons (Owl vahan- Mata Lakshmi-my dreams of becoming rich connection) why I am awfully passionate about this tiny critters around me and want to pet an owl one day.

The Soul Curry

The Soul Curry..!
That's the instant name which ticked my brain cells when I thought to post this particular photo of mine.  The enlightenment of life through Nirvana... huh, who knows if that is true!

Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta quotes~
"Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani"

It means
"Your right is only to work, and never to its fruits.
Don't be motivated by the fruits of work. Nor should you be attached to inaction."

Aah, Tuesday has been a tiring, stressful and  not so productive. Its not like my senior alias boss exploited me or something or like I had an tug of war or hot word exchange with someone at my workplace. However, I am disgusted with my current work. I have lost interest. Reason is still not known to me. I feel completely worn out, irky and annoyed with my work and workspace. I want peace. My soul wants rest and I want to be happy. But do I have any option to bunk my office tomorrow! Huh, No.. Yes... May be...!

Nevertheless, while searching for calmness and peace, I opened the Bhagwad Geeta and came across this particular sloka. Was that symbolic for me?

Just Wondering, should I just work or expect the reward..?!?!

Still 3 days to go for this week to end.. and they say WTF?!?! ha..ha..

Again One more Monday

I hate Mondays..
Aah I even get the phobia symptoms from Sunday evening (the previous day)... I'm irritated, jumble with my work, suffer from headache...! huh.. Too much to list, I guess. But slowly , I have been learning to be calm and composed, be peaceful, keep it simpler and behave practically (though its difficult to follow at times). I know how difficulty I find to make my life simpler esp. on Sunday evenings.

Nevertheless.. I am learning..I hope you must be doing so, once you realize it.

As the night is slowly creeping for the Monday morning, I am getting down and vulnerable.  But somewhere in the corner of my heart, it is saying me- "There will be again Friday after 5 days and then Saturday.. and Sunday. So go for it. It's worthy." And  now that I'm listening to my heart, my dreams are again alive to live another week and I am getting ready to fight like a warrior.

"Life: Celebration of Passionate Colors."

"Life is a celebration of passionate colors."

~ Leialoha Cator
The joy of life is in happy living, better lifestyle and colors. The joy of life is in the smile it gives us. It can be in different forms to each individual. Since, its one life, one ought to love it , live it and never long for the happiness.. Happiness, always is associated with celebration, whether small or huge, doesn't matter! That's what I have understood.
Its time to celebrate the spirit of life.. with Holi (The festival of Colors), with summer heat, with coolants, with yummy food and with colorful flowers all around the city..!

The three cups we all want..!

"A cup of love, a cup of happiness and a cup of success makes a life worth living...!"

~Amtrips

Life has three stages i.e. childhood, adulthood and old-age and all these stages demand these three cups with whole heartedness and satisfaction.

When we are kids, we want love of parents, good marks in school and games and toys.
As we grow up, our demands take a different turn and we want a lover, a secret admirer, sex, name and fame and our pro-creations.
With time, we grow old and want our kids to be around- physically; staying with their parents or virtually; those staying abroad through social networking and online chats, their fame and name and their success (parents feel on top of world with their kid's success).

And I realize that the three cups we all want-love, happiness and success have the rainbow colors in all stages of our life.

Everyone wants to understand painting...

As Picasso quotes “Are we to paint what's on the face, what's inside the face, or what's behind it?”

Everyone wants to understand painting. Why don't they try to understand the singing of birds? People love the night, a flower, everything that surrounds them without trying to understand them. But painting - that they must understand.

- Pablo Picasso

This year, 26th January, there was the Chitra Sante at CKP. I could try to make a short duration visit... And somewhere I had clicked one of the many artists who display their paintings. God's grace, most of them are nice and humble enough to let amateurs like me to click their work. Dont remember the person's name who actually painted this beautiful dream. I have named its "My Dreamy Eyes ..!"

Cooking is like love...

Cooking is like love.  It should be entered into with abandon or not at all.
~Harriet van Horne

I no doubt hate cooking. Had it been just"cooking", I would love to. But since I am skeptical and very particular with every smallest of small steps in any work, I consider cutting the vegetable an art. Making similar slices to any vegetable make them happy too. Once an onion slice told me in my dream-" See, Am I am not happy with you ... my some of my kins got to be cooked nicely turning golden brown but I remained dirty white colour.. Why didnt you chop me a little more on my left side..?"

Well... Awww... This is no joke.. I am serious..
And I follow each step ritually..esp chopping veggies each slice should be satisfied and happy to get sauteed in the pan.  Not the least, cutting veggies is the first step for good cooking. That's what I feel. One who can chop/slice/ cut the vegetables neatly is no doubt a good cook.

A Prayer for ...

the victims of Tsunami....

Its going to be one week since the mighty sea engulfed parts of Japan inside it. The earthquake and the tsunami has led to a loss of more than 15,000 human lives, lots of biodiversity, wealth and has made one powerful country weak again. Aftermath is even more horrendous with malfunction at 3 of the nuclear power plants and their subsequent blasts. Japan is going through a crisis and the whole world is trying to help it, support it and Japan will soon recover from this.

This time Japan is particular about "Save the Children.."

Let's pray for all victims of Friday Tsunami and earthquake in Japan. May the souls of the lost ones rest in peace and may the desolated ones recover faster, learning to live their lives once again. May those who escaped the hell road regain the life charm and re-settle once more.
I wish and I pray that...

may the Japanese men be once again back to the work..
may the Japanese women be back to their homes...
may the Japan's old folks regain their life back and
may the Japanese children smile once.

Fight your Monday Blues..

"lavender, sweet lavender;
come and buy my lavender,
hide it in your trousseau, lady fair.
Let its lovely fragrance flow
Over your from head to toe,
lightening on your eyes, your cheek, your hair."

Cumberkand Clark, Flower Song Book 1929

I hate Mondays... The worst day of the week..huh..No doubt if I agree to this fact that I am Mondayphobic and get Monday blues...!

But I love Lavender.. Lavender soap, essential oil, body wash, talcum powder... Lavender enriched creams and body lotions to lavender tea and Lavender incense sticks to candles, potpourri and many more....!
I, being shopalcoholic, buy anything and everything that has lavender in it. It intoxicates me and relaxes my tired body but side by side it also arouses my senses and soul to the deepest of deepness.

Today is again Monday.. I have already got "Mondayphobia" from yesterday evening (Almost every Sunday late evening (around 7 30 pm), the symptoms are seen which slowly creeps in with the night's advent..huh)..!But I will work and fight these Monday blues with lavender aroma..! :)

Current Mood: Thinking of getting a lavender (tree) pot for my balcony garden to fight Monday-blues!

The Bicycle Thief..!

“"When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realised that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked him to forgive me.”
Emo Philip

One of the many Hollywood movie that has really moved my thought process.. "The Bicycle Thief.."!
A salute the movie's story, its characters, its screenplay, the way the story runs around a 2-wheeler which is so hurtless and harmless yet so pernicious for a poor soul..! What got imprinted into my brain is the naive touch the movie left at the end..!

I have realized now "A cycle for a poor man is so much so quintessential  as like a AC fitted chauffeur-wala car for a rich man..!"

Thought of the day:
"Life is like riding a bicycle: you don't fall off unless you stop pedaling."

And the passion still exists ...

Today I am not gonna post any of my photo- works. However, I made a tiny sketch for the feel of being a WOMAN, who can balance home and career, for being a mother, daughter, sister, teacher, lover, wife, inspiration...!

For my photography, I must agree it is still alive. And the passion is still intact like an enigma of life (seed) with a little bit of inspiration from my bitter half, a little bit of my creative nooks, a little scoops of experience and a lots of inspirations...

I started to take my passion for photography seriously when I got the digicam S3 IS and of lately (may be two years ago) got indulged sinfully with it.I am now in love with my work and day in and out more involved in it. Daily I surf a lot of web-pages of photographs, lot of face-book friends who are really good with their hands on camera, a few blog pages too...!

Here I get to thank a lot of strangers alias internet friends alias contacts for letting me nurture my skills to some degree..!

I could never imagine I can be good at still photography though my passion lies in actions of the jungle/wild. With time, I have evolved my self into a better photographer each day.
On this occassion of International Women's Day, I get the oppurtunity to thank a few ladies (whom I have never met in my life) for being my inspirations, motivations, and admirations.
Those inspiring flickr and facebook contacts's whose photographs have been constant inspiration are:

Sri Pillai alias Subasri Pillai Photography

Archana Srinivas alias Archana Srivanas Photography alias Rang Decor

Erum Kazmi (Nahal) alias Colours of My Dream

Thought of the day..

Thought of the day:

Aye, on the shores of darkness there is light,
And precipices show untrodden green;

~ John Keats

Put some green in your life when you:

  • want a new state of balance
  • feel a need for change or growth
  • want freedom to pursue new ideas
  •  need protection from fears and anxieties connected with the demands of others.
  •  dare to dream and chase your dreams
  •  want to adapt to eco-friendly ways
  •  love mother earth and our co-creatures.

The Satrangi Umbrella..!

Last Friday when the whole city was wet due to the unpredictable downpour, I was watching the chaos on the street from my balcony wondering on some past and a few of my ramblings. This "satrangi" Umbrella made me not only rush inside home and get the camera but also let me click a few good snaps and I relaised that life was still colorful..!

Very justified of Mark Herman's words:
"Every body needs a little color."
